Replacing Kitchen Faucet, Going From A One Handle To A Two Handle.?

November 9th, 2009 2 comments

My realtor bought us a new faucet set when we closed on our house. We have at the moment a really old ugly one handle thing. It also has a soap dispenser and a sprayer. I took everyhting out from under the sink to look around under there and first noticed that the copper parts all have that water crust on them so it will be difficult to easily take apart. Second thing is if all the water lines are going into the one handle is it possible to make the sink have two handles with out calling a plumber? So 2 questions. How do you get the crusty stuff off the metal while it’s all connected and will I need to call a plumber for the water lines to fit the new faucet or can it be done DIY?

Faucet Mounted Water Filters With Auto Flush Technology

October 22nd, 2009 No comments

I offered Pur water filters my Patent Pending Idea to update their old water filters to use Auto Flush Technology, However, A.G. Lafley and his staff saw no value in Auto Flushing the kitchen Tap water filters as they see no value in help protecting their customers health. It is fine to let people forget to manually flush their systems as the black particulates that carry impurities and bacteria and other contaminates as well as chlorine and such is obviously just fine if their customers drink it, well then if it is safe to drink it, then why do we need the water filter in the first place? When people use kitchen tap water filters they must activate the filters for 10 to fifteen seconds on first use….Must Manually flush prior to every use, For nearly thirty years they have not updated this horrible pain in the Ass! If I forget to Manually Flush then I get black particulates into my drinking water glass, which they claim is harmless and that is a Lie!Proctor and Gamble and Mr.AG.Lafely hate Auto Flush Technology but Proctor and Gamble obviously do not care enough about their customers Health and Well being to add Auto Flushing to your water filters!Shame on you Mr. Lafley!!! lafley.ag@pg.comA simple process to make our lives easier and safer and they won’t do it! You think it is o.k to drink Black Particulates and bacteria and residue from a used and or dirty filter. When all you have to do is ensure that a control board can be programmed to control valves and the water flow.Rest assured the process of Auto Flushing is going to be circulating on forums and news sites until some water filter company cares enough about our welfare to start adding Auto Flushing to their systems. Hell isn’t it time! faucets are automated, doors and even soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers!Shame, Shame, Shame on you and Proctor and Gamble! This posting is starting to show up on forums already…

Selecting the Right Kitchen Faucet for your Sink

September 25th, 2009 No comments

Today’s “must have” kitchen upgrade is the kitchen faucet. Faucets have been revolutionized to be the “star” of the kitchen. Manufacturers have made faucets more stylish and versatile than ever, while keeping the needed functionality consumers demand.

Kitchen faucets come in a variety of styles, finishes, shapes, and sizes. Options include sprayers, matching soap dispensers, hot water dispensers, and escutcheons/ deckplates. Each of these options requires a separate mounting hole. The most important thing to know before buying a kitchen faucet is knowing the type of sink that the faucet will be used with:

* The style of the sink. Are you matching the sink color?

* Does your sink have 3 or 4 mounting holes?

* What is the the space between the holes?

* Is the faucet spout long enough to reach the center of the bowl? Size the faucet to complement the sink, not overwhelm it.

* Do you have extra mounting holes for desired accessories: soap and/or lotion dispenser, sprayer, hot water dispenser, etc.?

Faucets today have many finish options available to suit any décor. Some options include; chrome, polished brass, chrome/brass, brushed nickel, satin nickel, French gold, brushed chrome, oil rubbed bronze, weathered copper, French bronze, pewter, white, almond, biscuit, satine, and platinum.

One of the most important things to remember about finishes is that each manufacturer’s finishing process is different, and the color will vary slightly. To ensure that all the faucets and accessories match, buy them from the same manufacturer. Most manufacturers have made choosing easy by offering beautiful collections of related kitchen accessories such as, soap dispensers, cutting boards and bottom grid racks.

How Do I Fill Soap Dispenser For Price Pfister 26-4nzz Kitchen Faucet?

August 18th, 2009 1 comment

Although I don’t find manufacturer’s instructions for re-filling the soap bottle, based on the installation instructions, it appears that you should be able to firmly pull up on the pump head to remove it. Then, pull out the pump cartridge that’s below it. You should then be able to pour your liquid soap in the hold to fill the bottle. The other, less convenient option if this doesn’t seem to work, would be to crawl under the sink. The bottle is supposed to be held onto the stub by a “finger-tight” nut that’s threaded onto the stubb and to the top of the bottle. While holding the nut at the top of the bottle, so it doesn’t turn, you should be able to hand-turn the bottle counter-clockwise to remove it for filling.
Installation instructions for your faucet and soap dispenser are in PDF format at the manufacturer’s website at:https://pricepfister.custhelp.com/cgi-bi…
If that link doesn’t work for you, go to the link below. Go down the page to “File Attachments” and click on “26 series – TREVISO Collection.pdf”https://pricepfister.custhelp.com/cgi-bi…
Your manufacturer’s main web page is below.
Good luck!
